Eosinophilic Oesophagitis
Eosinophilic Oesophagitis
Eosinophilic oesophagitis also referred to as EoE, is a relatively newly recognised disease that is characterised by white blood cells (eosinophils) building up in the lining of the oesophagus (the tube that carries food and liquids from your mouth to your stomach). This immune reaction causes injury and inflammation which can cause pain and may lead to difficulty with swallowing. Typically, the immune reaction in your esophagus is worsened by a food or food component, making nutrition a key part of the puzzle in the management of EoE.
How our dietitians help with EoE:
- Managing inflammation through food
- Supporting your gastroenterologist / treating team with their treatment plans.
- Formulate the best line of nutritional management we can offer based on the most reliable and recent scientific evidence
If you’re looking for safe, evidence-based support from a dietitian who is compassionate and understanding of the challenges of your condition, please contact our team and make an appointment so we can assist with managing your EoE.
